Immune Dysfunction and Modulation

At least two types of lymphocytes are “killer cells” – cytotoxic T-cells and natural killer (NK) cells. NK cells, a small subset of peripheral blood lymphocytes, mediate a variety of functions that are important in human health.

"Natural killer activity is involved in a variety of essential biological processes ranging from reproduction to coping with stress”
  Clinical Immunology, 1994

"Reduced natural killer cell activity is present in all illness. Everyone with low NK activity is more susceptible to infectious disease."
  National Institute of Health, 1997

"Every severe and chronic disease is directly associated with immune dysfunction."
  Dr. Julius Poplyansky
Director of the International Foundation of Innovative Medicine

"Infectious disease is the #1 cause of illness in the US and the #1 cause of death world wide."
  Center for Disease Control

"Bring in the Big Guns - NK cells are the immune systems unspecified fighters. They work like Killer T cells, flooding infected cells with destructive enzymes - kills any invading bug in its path."
  Time Magazine - Jan. 21, 2002

“Our results indicate that medium and high cytotoxic activity of peripheral-blood lymphocytes is associated with reduced cancer risk, whereas low activity is associated with increased cancer risk.”
  Lancet: Vol 356; November 2000

"Specific support of the immune system is a necessary strategy for regaining and /or maintaining good health."

  Jesse Stoff, MD

Important New Clinical Tool for Immune System Support

Antigen infused extract has been shown in clinical application to increase NK-cell activity by modulating the immune system. A proprietary form of this special extract, Ai/E10® contains coded information in molecules that are extracted, identified, purified and concentrated through a patented process.

The graph below represents 107 patients with various clinical diagnoses characterized by immune malfunction. Note the average NK-cell activity level at the start of therapy was around 10 lytic units. With support fuels and the ingestion of AiI/E10® over time the average NK-cell activity levels were seen to increase many fold. Jesse Stoff, MD, discusses the patients' outcomes in detail in the booklet “The Ultimate Nutrient”.

Ai/E10® can be a trigger that when combined with certain nutritional fuels will feed and energize your immune system.

References in the field of natural medicine show that these immune system fuels will help to support the immune system.

Arabinogalactan
promotes macrophage activity.
promotes NK-cell activity.
supports healthy gut immunity.

Astragalus
perennial plant.
used in Chinese culture for the maintenance of healthy immune function.
increases interferon and interleukin production.

Maitake Mushroom D-fraction
stimulates cytokine production--- interferon, interleukin, and NK-cells.

"With antigen infused dialyzable bovine colostrum/whey extract (Ai/E10®), in conjunction with nutritional fuels, I have been able to activate the immune systems of thousands of people. I believe this is the most powerful nutrient ever created for immune modulation."
  Jesse Stoff, MD

"NK cells appear to present the first line in defense against metastatic spread of tumors. In numerous studies, low NK-cell populations were correlated with greater and more rapid spread of tumors with shorter host longevity and with greater morbidity. These studies also demonstrated that correction of the NK population restored resistance."
  Jesse Stoff, MD

Immune Modulation Graph

The graph below is from Dr.Jesse Stoff's double blind, placebo-controlled study. (An examination of immune response modulation in humans by antigen infuced dialyzable bovine colustrum/whey extract utilizing a double blind study). Group A represents healthy people taking the antigen infused extract. Group B represents healthy people taking a placebo (sugar pill). There was an increase in both natural killer (NK) cell and macrophage activity with group A. Group B had a small increase in macrophage activity, but had a decrease in NK-cell activity.

This study appears in the April 2002 issue of the journal “Townsend Letter”. Click here to see the complete study.

Further Scientific Validation

Another clinical study upon natural killer(NK) cell activity in healthy human population was released in September 2001. This study showed that Ai/E10® increased NK-cell activity in healthy people.
